Days Out in Cornwall

Cornwall has always catered well for its visitors, but now is experiencing a boom of high quality establishments that meet the needs of international travelers and day trippers alike. Especially since the Eden Project was set up, the standard of the county has risen and developed in whole new directions. There is a great deal of historical interest and heritage sites throughout the beautiful countryside, and, being surrounded by the unforgiving Atlantic, there is endless amounts of maritime history.

Shopping in Cornwall is full of unique experiences; from the windy streets of towns like St. Ives, to the high quality shops of the city of Truro, this county always surprises and satisfies. There is also a growing artistic community here. Cornwall has been a centre of the arts for many years, but now there are many new hubs of creative people emerging and developing. Places like St. Just and St. Agnes are bursting with arts and crafts, and there are also large exhibition spaces such as the Tate St. Ives and the Lemon Street Gallery in Truro.

Tourist Attractions in Cornwall

There are also adventure parks, animal sanctuaries, farms - like New Mills Farm Park - and animal parks all geared up to entertain people, whatever the weather. Children will love attractions such as Holywell Bay Fun Park, Colliford Lake Park or Lappa Valley Railway; there is a plentiful supply of family friendly sites throughout the county. If you are traveling or sightseeing, you will pass attraction after attraction, and never have time to visit them all.

The wonderful, golden beaches are one of the main reasons Cornwall is such a popular holiday destination. They are well kept and range from having excellent facilities to being untouched. Surfing has taken off here in a very big way, as have many other watersports. The beaches are full of activity in the summer, and even in the winter the sea is full of surfers.

If you are planning a party or corporate event, and are looking for something a little more unique, then Plymouth Sumo Hire may grab your attention, providing adult and kids' sumo suits for hire throughout Devon and Cornwall. Also, Lasersport offer a great deal of entertainment with laser clay target shooting near Launceston, Cornwall.

If you are still hungry for entertainment on your way back up country, it is worth stopping off for some cycle hire at Forest Cycle Hire, not far from Exeter in Haldon Woods.
