Friends of Par Beach

The Friends of Par Beach have had an energetic first year and a successful AGM, and are pleased to announce the start of the new Friends of Par Beach membership year with more progress on caring for this wonderful area.

Fourteen events were held in our first year, with a range of activities including walks and talks, beach cleans, a members consultation evening and working parties in the beach and Local Nature Reserve area.

We have been assisting the Parish Council to lobby for the paths through the site to be designated Public Rights of Way, and have been busy forging links with stakeholders such as the Parish Council, County Council, Ecobos, Serco, Par Sands Holiday Park, The Environment Agency, Natural England and Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

We would like to thank the Co-op Community grant, Cornwall Council Community grant and the Chestnut Fund for their generous grants that have enabled the group to meet its start up costs and plan for the new events and activities programme, which will be announced shortly.
